"asku ṣnede" is "a long scalp lock, one reaching nearly to the ground, being lengthened by additions of cloth, ribbon, etc., to which are fastened a row of small pieces of tin or looking-glasses. The young Ponkas were so ornamented when they took part in some of their dances.
