The Kansas or Wind people, the fifth gens of the Hañgacenu half-tribe of the Omahas (Om.Soc., 241). This gens answers to the Ḳáⁿze of the Ḳáⁿze or Kansas tribe, and the Ḳáⁿse of the Osage tribe. It is said to be devided into sub-gentes, among which are the Wind people proper, and the Keepers of the Pipe (Ṭade unikaciⁿga and Niniba t'aⁿ)
