A contrivance used by the Omahas for pulling branches for fire-wood. It consists of two sticks, or rather, a pole and a stick (about a foot long), the latter being secured at an acute angle to one end of the pole by a thong wrapped around it thus forming a rude hook, which is put over the branch to be drawn down.
